Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

There are a never-ending stream of blog posts and consulting sites offering to “do SEO for you”. The truth is that search engines are constantly evolving their approaches. Chasing the lastest tips and techniques will only work in the short-term at best. What I offer is to help you understand some basic principles of SEO, how to understand what’s working on your site and what you can do to get more traffic from Google and Bing without spending thousands of dollars.

Google Analytics

An amazingly robust tool that’s available for free, Google Analytics offers small business people a wonderful opportunity to make “Big Data” work for you! But it can be completely overwhelming. There’s a lot of information and it can be difficult to extract anything approaching an ‘actionable insight’. When you work with me, I will help you cut through the clutter of screens to focus on the numbers that matter to you. I can handle the grunt work setup for you, or coach you through how to do it yourself. For example:

  • Install/setup Google Analytics tracking correctly for your site and your needs
  • Create a Dashboard to give you an ‘at a glance’ view of how your site is doing
  • Translate your business goals into Google Analytics Goals
  • Track product sales
  • See where your web traffic is coming from, so that you can get more of it

Social Media

Everyone says you should be ‘doing social media’, but what exactly that means and what you should expect to get out of it are often elusive. I can work with you to figure out which of the many social media channels makes sense for you to invest your time/energy, and to create a process for you so that you can manage your social media like a pro in minutes instead of hours.

Google AdWords

Much like Analytics, Google’s AdWords product levels the playing field of advertising online, making it possible for small businesses to compete in the same spaces as much larger companies, on a fraction of the budget. The AdWords interface can be daunting, but with just a little bit of time and effort, you can have ads that get your website visits from people who want what you have. As with my other services, I’m happy to handle the set up work for you, or coach you through the process and establish a workflow for you to make it manageable.
